D.C.  Based Theatre Companies

Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) - Founded in 1985, the STC operates two mid-sized performing arts venues, the Lansburgh Theatre (451 seats) on 7th St. and Sidney Harman Hall (775 seats) on F St. in the Penn Quarter neighbourhood that together form the Harman Center for the Arts.  The STC is an international destination theatre.  Please visit STC's website, and tickets can be purchased online.

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company - 641 D Street, NW in Penn Quarter. 265-seat courtyard-style theatre.  Described as "Washington's Most Daring Theatre Company" by the New York Times, Woolly Mammoth has won major national awards over the years and has produced leading edge works that have been featured in over 200 other theatres around the U.S. and the world. The Studio Theatre -
1501 14th Street, NW in Logan Circle.  The home of contemporary theatre in Washington, D.C., the Studio Theatre was founded in 1978 and provides theatergoers high quality performances and provocative writing style at its four-theatre performance complex.  Click here for more information!
