Housing Reports
The Urban Institute's releases a report every quarter that takes a look at trends in the Washington, DC housing market to include residential sales, building permits, housing stock changes, and affordable housing. Their Spring 2007 report focuses on mortgage lending trends. District of Columbia Housing Monitor

Demographics Reports
The DC State Data Center (SDC) is the official link to the U.S. Census Bureau. The SDC's latest report highlights selected 2005 DC demographics data including nativity and language, geographic mobility, and education. The US Census Bureau's Year 2000 Profile of General Demographic Characteristics is a very useful resource for reviewing racial statistics, household types, and age statistics on DC.

Retail Reports
The Washington, DC Economic Partnership offers a yearly comprehensive retail opportunities book that includes summaries and demographics profiles of 32 DC neighbourhoods that have retail corridors.

The Downtown DC Business Improvement District has released its 2008 Retail Brochure. This report details just how far the retail sector of Downtown DC has come over the last few years and the challenges that remain for making this area of the city a regional draw for shopping. The Washington, DC Economic Partnership publishes the best DC development report that I've seen available from any one source. Their latest publication highlights over 970 development projects that represent over $51 billion worth of investment within the city's borders. The DC Development Report

Economic Reports View the latest Citizen's Financial Report, a summarised and easier-to-read version of DC's Fiscal Year 2006 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), is available for review. In this report, you will see how much money DC has in the bank, general obligation bond ratings, budgetary highlights, and other economic conditions in the City. Here is the latest report produced by the DC Chamber of Commerce on the DC economy and its strengths, weaknesses, and opportunity. Very informative. Would you like to know how many small businesses operate in DC? Check out this 2007 report from the US Small Business Administration. Small Business Profile: District of Columbia Review the 2002 Economic Census statistics for the District of Columbia. Greening the Washington Metropolitan Region’s Built Environment A report by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG) details commercial construction starts in the DC region for 2006. This report, produced in July of 2006, shows the various submarkets in Center City and the existing and potential land use in each. Highly recommended!
